Temporary Pavilion: Foundation Architecture

DIN PAVILION

Project Brief:
Our first assignment in DIS' foundations studio class was to create a temporary pavilion for the Royal Gardens in Copenhagen, Denmark. This encouraged us to merge sculpture and practicality to serve the site-specific users.

Concept:
“Dit Pavilion” invites guests to inquire adventure amidst a very polished and linear bubble, better known as the Rosenborg Castle Garden. Adventure requires decisions, and decisions require choices regarding the where, what, who, and how of a situation. Thus, this space aims to provide choices for people to explore: do I want to sit alone or with others, do I want to be enclosed or free, do I want to continue or pause...? These questions transform a pavilion into Your Pavilion.
