Composition Project Schizoid Man

I call it... Schizoid Man

I base it off of Early Medieval paintings, Handsome Squidward, Gru, and the you know you had to do it to em' meme.Schizoid is a personality and mental disorder that causes people to feel and express very few emotions, close friendships, relationships, social isolation and other antisocial behaviors. The piece indirectly references characters who show off this behavior, such as Squidward and Gru, who in their respective films are typically preferred to being alone, are cold and harsh, as well as they take long periods of time to open up to their neighbors or family. The inner thoughts represented by a song from the Lorax, sung by a character who, also is antisocial, arrogant, and shows no remorse or guilt for his actions. In the bottom half it covers his severe addiction to his bay-blades. The Halo around Schzoid Man's head is a reference to Medieval European paintings. When paintings were nearly all the same and when Europe did not understand other cultures and did not allow any other artistic styles. Its like Europe itself suffered the mental disorder.

I believe this piece of art is a surreal take on a personality disorder that I suffer. Though it was indirect and not intended. The pieces all fell together in an ironic but interesting turn of events. Their personality trends, and evolution as characters or objects are all very similar as they go from a disliked and unwanted, to lovable and respectable throughout the timeline of their lives.
