Scott G. Sink joined Birmingham, Alabama’s McGriff, Seibels and Williams, Inc., as senior executive vice president in 1994. A five-time winner of the company’s top producer award, he further serves as the energy and marine division practice leader. Outside of work, Scott G. Sink is an avid golfer. Golf Digest has announced its top courses in Alabama for the 2019-2020 golf season, and Shoal Creek, designed by Jack Nicklaus in 1977 and revised by Nicklaus and Jim Lipe in 2016, is once again the premier course in the state. One of two Alabama courses with a national ranking, the course at Shoal Creek is notable for its dense forest surroundings. Despite the rugged terrain, the area allowed Nicklaus to establish a number of longer Par 4 and Par 5 holes, resulting in one of his earliest top class designs.

The course was reconditioned four decades later, with Nicklaus and Lipe completely reinstalling fairways, recontouring greens, and rethinking strategies. The 12th hole actually now plays in reverse compared to the original design, making Shoal Creek not only a local favorite, but a must-see for anyone who played the course prior to 2016.

The Country Club of Birmingham West course was ranked number two in the state, followed by the Ledges Country Club, Turtle Point, and the Old Overton Club.
