Moonlight Night
This piece was inspired when looking through images and finding this one:
This photo establishes a romantic mood since there are two glasses; however the warm colors, textures of the sand and waves creates a soothing feeling. Trying to emulate that, I wanted to modify the image by having wine glasses and bottle under a moonlight night. To give it more of an Alaskan feel, I added the wood texture as a frame in oder to enhance the theme. The colors chosen were attempting to establish a dark night; however, my limited shading ability did not work as far as creating a sense of depth. This was my first time working with plaster and it was interesting trying to find the right ratio of water to plaster; what objects work well to impress and which do not; and attempting to get minute details such as grains of wood. Below is another angle of the impression.
