Squamish Paragliding

I had been wanting to shoot a paragliding trip for quite some time. Finally, an opportunity popped up on a Facebook group I had long forgotten about. I threw my name on the message board and we were set to meet the guys at 630am at the foot of the Stawamus Chief. An intense hour later, we hit the top of the mountain just before sunrise.

Conditions were super variable – clouds and fog were washing in and out of the valley at a pretty quick pace. Turns out that isn't ideal for jumping off of a mountain trying to touch down in a very small landing zone 2000 feet below. We waited it out for 45 minutes and things started to clear up a little bit. The guys were set to fly, I found my spot, perched on a 1000 foot ledge a short ways down the hill from the takeoff.

Here are the images I shot that morning. I could not be more happy with how they turned out.
