Sound City Magazine

PROBLEM:
Sound City is a relatively new audio peripheral company. They need to spread awareness of their brand and have inquired about making a magazine. As unique of a design as possible is required to grab more attention.

Target Market:
My magazine is focused around music production and those who are interested in getting started as music producers.

Competition Research: The magazine companies I will be competing against are Rolling Stone and Entertainment Weekly. Rolling Stone typically has many subcover titles and leaves little focus on the feature liner. Entertainment Weekly generally has a focus on one face in the center of the page with Masthead being obscured by the focus. My design is better because the focus doesn’t obscure any titles or the masthead and the simplistic cover is easier to read over with a vinyl/retro appeal.

RESULTS:
This magazine cover will grab peoples attention as they checkout or shop, eventually leading to more sales
