I'm #carlosfabiancg , It was great to work letterings with art direction by Lennyn Salinas @tabisquey for René Pérez @residente and Sony Music @sonymusiclatin. #Residente is one of the Latin American creatives I most admire since 2004 and I find it incredible to collaborate with #letterings for his new song #Pecador released worldwide on #october31st 2019.

I was frustrated at not reaching the calligraphic level of Ross F. George and W. Dunham in Speedball books. That's why I drew texture gothic letters studying #rudolfkoch with a square point and a 30 degree angle.

The design of voids between vertical strokes are similar to the width of these strokes achieving great closeness to each other, so the horizontal empty space between lowercase letters resemble a fence with logs vertically nailed to the ground forming a firm structure.

In the word design "Pecador", the ornate capital "P" on the right matches the upper right flourish of the "d" located in the middle of the word and both close with the right horizontal flourish of the "r", designed to end the word. #handletterings #types #nottype #font #notafont
