The Shining Movie Poster

Using various colors and imagery from the movie, I created a movie poster that summarizes the movie.

Creating typed sheets of paper and scanning them in creates a more tactical element to the poster and allows it to mirror the typewriter paper in the movie.

Watered-down red paint also helps the poster depict major aspects of the film. After printing out the sheets of paper, I dipped them into the paint.

The composition went through various stages to help figure out how to make the "blood" look more convincing and the axe more prominent between the text.
