a process, for me, that begins with pattern (here leaf prints made in paint)
followed by looking, allowing images to emerge in the mind's eye, with no active effort.
then using tone to draw in what I've seen.
seeing this way can happen anywhere...
in bathroom linoleum, wallpaper, the forest, a mountainside...
no surprise I guess that it also happens with painting.
it's possible the process of viewing might also mirror the process of creating...
now that would be a lovely equation :-)
