A coffee table from salvaged marble
Stratum is a low table made of left over pieces of artificial marble, raw edges of bigger plates, used for pavement. The long strips, are assembled together, raw side up, and framed on three sides by a thick bar of chromed stainless steel. Though it weights over 100kg, the thin legs gives it the appearance of something light, almost floating above the floor.

The layers of uneven stone are an evocation of rock stratification, and of the idea, which is very dear to me, that there are many layers to everything.
