The Nissan Champ is the Datsun Sunny and was made in South Africa from 1971 up until 2008!
Since it's such a part of South African culture, it was sad to see it go. We knew before its discontinuation that Nissan had already decided to replace it with a re-badged Dacia Logan pickup, a fiscally sound decision, but so devoid of heart or heritage.
So, the first quick sketch below dates from 2007 already. I felt something had to be done. I hope you like the end result.
