Based on the scene from the beach looking up to the west and the iron-age hill fort, with string of white lights along the coastline, this ceramic with its rough brush-strokes has herring gulls flying across the skies with a reference to the glittering sea.
This ceramic is eathenware fired using a mixture of coloured clay, glaze and pencil.
North Devon with its rugged coastline and wild moorland is a magical place. In this ceramic series I hope to capture the vivid and wild nature of the area.
