Every person has a different interpretation for home.
- For some people home is where they can take off their mask and cherish their true self; or it is something that will not change in the constant changing world; or it is simply the touch of a door handle from their childhood memory that feels so warm.
- Although home is different for everyone, but home is, and will always be a desire. No matter where you are, what is your age, home is what you want.
- The desire can change. The physical house will change with it, as an expression of the desire.
For me several years ago, home can be where I can take a break from the boarding school. So the house I settled in was a studio room in a condo that has beautiful night view and warm yellow lighting, and of course no parent. Since I am in university, the desire for home shifted, Maybe later, I desire a travelling life, who knows, and then my house is not going to be a condo room, but maybe a motor home. If you think about it, it is not just me. Throughout history, people express their desire of home through housing.
People say that home is something that you want but can never get, but if we think in another way, the desire is changing and hard to be satisfied, but we always find a way to express it through housing, through its construction, and through the housekeeping routine.
