Radford High School Foundation Awards Classroom Grants
A financial advisor with more than 30 years of experience, George Abie Williams of Radford, VA, has served as senior vice president of investments with Stifel Nicolaus since 2010. Active within various community organizations, George Abie Williams is a charter member and chairman of the Radford High School Foundation in Radford, VA.
Established in 1986 to support Radford’s school system, the foundation raised over $1 million to construct the James P. King Center and headed 2005 efforts to construct a new municipal baseball facility. The foundation also operates the Campaign for Continuing Excellence, which awards cash classroom grants to deserving local schools. Teachers can apply for the Marge and Robbie Roberson Memorial Endowed Classroom Grant, which funds classroom projects in the areas of earth science and environmental studies, or the Carilion Health and Wellness Fund, which provides mini-grants to fund health education programs and projects in Radford schools. Each year, the foundation awards more than $500,000 in classroom grants and scholarships.
