A proposed project of an International Cruise Terminal in Kochi, Kerala was taken up as a final project for my B.Arch.
The project included a full-blown cruise terminal, a waterway terminal for local ports, a small hotel, international shopping lounge and a helipad.

The Concept
Abrief was developed for the project followed by a comprehensiveprogram. Initial thoughts and concepts merged with case studies as thedesign process stepped on 3-stages before the final panel and physicalmodel was presented.
Kochi as a naval port of India, is also famous for its navy base and the fishing community. The initial inspirations were drawn from the infamous Chinese fishing nets and hulls of local trawlers and boats, which was then translated into the canopy-like roof of the terminal buildings.
