The Xela House units, Quetzaltenango, Guatemala, 2011

Xela Project is a gruop of 4 2-story houses originated from a main plot of land. Owner's only requirement was to generate 4 non-rectangular divisions as a challenge to enrich the architectural result of the project and provide the units with the biggest amount of natural light.

Final proposal consists in 4 puzzle-like shapes with scalonated gardens, that can be perceived as a progression of voids in the volume to guide the eye trought the whole length of the house, at the same time that these voids provide ilumination, ventilation and serve as interesting and unique natural backgrounds for every single activity taken place in the units.
