People express themselves in different ways, I express myself through design. The New York City Club Kids expressed themselves through elaborate, outrageous costume. The Club Kid fashion still lives on in the London Club Kid scene and performers such as Lady Gaga and the Scissor Sisters.

 

What attracted me most to this style was the sense of fun it exudes how alien it was to everyday life. This led to designing a piece inspired by sea anemones as they are in an alien world compared to our own.  I explored the shape and form of the sea anemone through drawing, model making and material exploration, allowed me to create striking, sculpted body pieces that jiggle with the wearer’s movements.

 

This inspires me to venture into the world of costume design in terms of accessories and create theatrical pieces for the modern day performer that screams for attention from the viewer, using their methods of self-expression to showcase my custom made pieces.  

 

I am a contemporary designer whose skills can be used to create catwalk pieces, bespoke pieces and commercial pieces.
