Creative Sprint - In Class Project
Advanced Design Concepts 1 - Fall 2019 - 8.27.19

The steps of this project are as follows:
- Choose a small business
- Identify what we like about them
- Find their weak/pinch points
- Develop ideas for addressing the identified issues
Hurley Farms
For my small business I chose Hurley Farms, located in Huntsville Ohio. I was drawn to this small business for its presence throughout my childhood as well as their deep roots within the community of Huntsville. I have been going to their annual fall festival since 2001 with my family and haven't missed visiting at least once per year since. The farm started in 1968 as Wickerham Produce, eventually being taken over by the founder daughter and becoming Hurley Farms in 1998. To this day, now just over 50 years later, the farm is still family owned and operated and delivering the same level of quality produce and close-knit family feel.
Pinch Points
- Website is objectively bad; aesthetically and user interface wise.
- On-sight packaging/signage is inconsistent
- Little/no advertising
- Little/ no social media presence
-Mandy different versions of business logo
Possible Solutions
The ideas I have to improve the issues with the current business include:

- A small brand guideline, roughly 10 pages, to give the business a consistent identity patrons can recognize, this idea would include:
        - Fonts
        - Brand colors
        - Signage
        - Official Logo

- I would also like to do more in promoting and using the produce. For this I would like to do:
        - Recipe Cards
        - A Tasty/tutorial-esque cooking demo video
        - Produce calendar to show when fruits / vegetables are in season.
