A lighting concept and design for the newly renovated hospital chapel at University Hospital of Copenhagen .
The chapel is located deep within the hospital, making it impossible to experience natural light or view the outdoor areas. The new lighting solution allows an association with an outdoor environment by use of a dynamically lit altarpiece, which slowly changes in colour-temperature and intensity during the day. The lighting provides a rare space for prayer and reflection. The design was developed whilst I was Head of Design at Ramboll Lighting, in close coordination with the architect Mathilde Petri.
