Monstetris-Sketchbook-Patchwork
Dichromatic apophenic drawings

"Apophenia" is a term used by psychologists. It describes our mind's ability to find figures and forms even in chaotic and meaningless pattern. So most of my art is based on what I "find" in textures – in this case randomly doodled turquoise lines provided the chaotic pattern to start from.
The figures seem to free themselves from the background and grow out of hidden structures underneath. This technique is not limited to any kind of media. Visual stimuli can be anything from analogue splotches, photographic material, digital pattern.
