Dove's shower
It was a few days ago.
It suddenly started raining heavily while I was working.
When I looked outside through the window, there was a dove on the electric wire.
Maybe it was a Eastern turtle dove.
The dove suddenly raised its right wing high and stayed still.
After a while, this time, a dove raised its left wing, and its did the same...
The dove was bathing in the sudden rain as if in a shower.
After that, a dove started to preened themselve calmly in the heavy rain.

数日前のことです。
仕事中、急に激しい雨が降ってきました。
窓から外の様子を見てみると、丁度見えた先の電線に1羽のハトが止まっていました。
おそらくキジバトだと思います。
そのハトは急に右の翼を高く上げ、そのままじっとしています。
しばらくすると、今度は左の翼を高く上げ、同じように...
そのハトは急に降ってきた雨をシャワー代わりに水浴びをしていたのでした。
その後、ハトは激しく雨が降る中、悠然と羽繕いを始めました。
仕事中、急に激しい雨が降ってきました。

その日は朝から大変暑く、もしかしたらハトにとっても急な雨は
ほっと一息つけるものだったのかも知れません。

後でそういえばあのハトどうなったかなと思い、
見に行ったときにはすでに飛び去った後でした。
