La retorica della Cirenaica

Every place has, probably, its important history but it hasn't always been possible to tell it, pass it on, make it Memory, and if the passing of time accompanies forgetfulness, sometimes it triggers the stimulus to prevent it.

The project deals with the rhetorical chance of the Cyrenaic district of Bologna, built in 1913 near the conflict that brought Italy to the conquest of Libya and after which the original streets are dedicated. The end of the World War II brings the necessity for new values and in 1949 colonial odonomy succumbed to the memory of the Fallen for the Liberation: all the streets of the district are now titled as a tribute to patriots and heroes of the Resistance: Paolo Fabbri, Giuseppe Bentivogli, Mario Musolesi, Sante Vincenzi are now the protagonists that revolutionize the meaning of the discourse.

Can be the History, the Memory of a place, deleted by a so simple practice? How much can be resurrected?

The images contained in the project attempt to bring back to light the fallen into oblivion,
because remote and unknown, buried in the interstices of urban tissues, to redeem it from oblivion.

Old ghosts roam the streets; the invitation is to look inside the image, in search of what has changed or still survives today.
