El-Lotus
Ceramic tile inspired by the Egyptian lotus
Under the title "branding Egypt", the aim of this project was to create a product that represents the Egyptian culture. I was inspired by the Egyptian lotus flower, and by its great significance in the ancient Egyptian civilization. For production I applied slip casting technique, which is a ceramic forming technique for the mass-production of pottery. Afterwards, the tile was fired, glazed, and re-fired. Materials used are; Gypsum, water, liquid clay, and ceramic glaze.
