The exterior is covered in a polyester knit with a synthetic layer between the exterior and the inflatable bladder under it. This makes it more comfortable and has the added benefit of wicking away moisture.

The top of the pillow softly curves on the sides in order to cradle your head and the bottom edge is angled to help keep the pillow centered.

Pros

The knit covering does a good job of making it more comfortable than a lot of other inflatable pillows that I’ve used and it also helps make it less noisy than other inflatable pillows. If you’ve ever tried sleeping on an inflatable pillow in the past, you know exactly what I’m talking about.

The whole pillow can be inflated in three deep breaths thanks to the large one-way valve system on the bottom of the pillow. Being able to get this thing inflated fast without any problems at the end of a long day is a great feeling.

Cons

It isn’t the most expensive hiking pillow on the market, but it also isn’t the cheapest. If you’re looking for something dirt cheap, this isn’t for you.

Reading some reviews, it seems like there was a quality issue a few years ago. Having seen about 9 of the current production pillows, I haven’t experienced a single leak or defect. Your mileage may vary.

Other inflatable pillows with more padding and fill can be more comfortable. The Aeros makes a few compromises due to its size and weight.
