Great Outdoors USA
Trade Show Exhibit
Background
Each year, Novak Birch works with Great Outdoors USA federal partners (e.g., U.S. National Park Service and Smithsonian Institution) to unite 10+ booths in the 80’ x 30’ space, delivering one cohesive experience. This was my fourth consecutive year in leading the art direction and design execution for the space.
Solution
I designed a family of branded elements to display throughout the aisle, connecting the booths and creating a cohesive space that attracts visitors. Revamped existing materials and added new design elements like the entrance archway. The result was a united design that matched the authenticity that the stakeholders desired.
Details
At IPW 2019, the overarching theme promoted the “Bring Home a Story” campaign. Each booth featured a branded header and a photographic backdrop, connecting them in the exhibit space.
In addition, my team designed, fabricated, and installed an entrance archway in addition to wooden park sign posts with iconography. To anchor the space and provide ambiance, I also designed a custom aisle carpet featuring a topographic trail map.
To provide storage and set dressing, we incorporated custom camping coolers throughout the space. Planters with faux cacti and grasses lined the entrance to the aisle, adding to a grand welcome.
Final Thoughts
This project won Silver in Display/Trade Show/Exhibits in the 2019 Summit Creative Awards.
