Unity: "World War Z" FPS Game

FPS Game using Unity3d. The game is inspired by the famous movie "World War Z".

The story:
The game is inspired by the movie ‘World War Z’, where there is a city is occupied by zombies and they try to take over the judgment of this city, and many wars happen between those zombies and humans.
The hero ‘the player’ tries to survive from being killed by the zombies and his challenge is to kill as many zombies as he can without being hit by them and to collect as many weapons as he can.
Then he got arrested by the zombies and locked in an old basement and he tries to escape safely by killing as many zombies as he can, without being killed.
The game immerses the player in a world where he can run and jump from high places and use gunshots to kill the zombies and live the adventure of the movie.

The character’s backstory:

The character is inspired from the hero of the movie ’Brad Pitt’ who tries to kill as many zombies as he can and then he got arrested by the zombies in an old basement and he tries to escape by killing as many zombies as possible and survive to save his family.

The genre of the game:
The game is a combination of action and fighting games, as it focuses on the player’s physical ability and how he switches between weapons, it doesn’t focus on the environment (also we made a huge effort to make the environment and to make the player immerses in the game).

The Atmosphere:
The atmosphere of the game is basically a horrific and action atmosphere ,as the lightening is sort of dim ,the color palette is pale (pale red and orange are the dominant colors in the scene)as a result of many fires and fights and it gives the player the feeling of suspense, the weather is a little foggy but the sky box used gives a basic sun lightening.
The special visual effects used are: the gun shooting effects and weapon recoil and blood coming from the player if he got shot, also the experience added to the player after each time he kills a zombie adds a type of reward.
The sound effects are horrific as the soundtrack works on making the user more stressed and focused in the game, and there are also zombies sounds when they come near the player to alert him.

Progression:
Each time the player kills a zombie, the player’s experience is increased.
Each time the player gits a hit from the zombie the experience decreases.
The point of this is the more experience that he has, the more weapons and bullets that he can take, and the longer time he can survive to kill more zombies.
The game has two levels:
-The first level is the arena level:
Where the player walks in a destroyed city and tries to survive and kill more zombies.
-The second level is the basement level:
Where the player got arrested by the zombies in an old basement and he tries to escape by killing the zombies.

Pacing:
The game has a very high speed as the zombie’s movement is so fast so the player has to pay attention to avoid being hit by one of the zombies, also he has to kill as many zombies as he can.

Types and Locations of Sound:
Adding the appropriate sound effects to the game is a big challenge because to increase the entertainment of the player we have to choose soundtrack with the right pace to make the player feels the suspense of the game, and also the rest of the sound effects must be coherent with the scene and adds more to the game. The sounds in the game has many types and locations, for example the ambient audio that comes from zombies while coming near the player alerts him, also the sounds of gunshot and kicks that add more realism to the game.

Maps:
The game has two maps:
-The first map is the arena map: which is simply a plane that we designed to look like destroyed city with assets of wrecked buildings and old streets lanterns and street decorations (like cubes and water pipes and rock bricks) to add more realism and to make the game look more like the movie as its inspired from it.
-The second map is the old basement map: which is designed to look like an old basement or a warehouse, with a very horrific design to make it more look like a prison.

Available Menu Items:
-Start: Leads the player directly to the game, the player can choose between two maps (arena and basement), or go back to main menu.
-Tutorial: Leads the player to a video of the game played correctly to show the player all the instructions of playing.
-Options: Leads the player to a window where he can adjust the sound of the game from.
-Exit: Exits the game window.

Rules of the game:​​​​​​​
You start with Police 9 mm pistol, after 10 seconds, after 10 seconds of entering the game, zombies will spawn and keep gathering around you and follow you until they kill you.
Killing the zombie gives you some cash and experience.
Collect the cash and buy new gun, or upgrade them, or buy some ammunition.
It’s endless survival game, zombies are getting stronger and stronger, also gives more funds and experience.​​​​​​​
