Purpose: To create a didactic illustration on a species using traditional media by accurately depicting the anatomy of the species and their natural habitat.

After visiting the Royal Ontario Museum, I was attracted to the butterflies exhibited there and decided to create an illustration of the Ornithoptera priamus, the Common Green Birdwing. These butterflies are colourful and my attempt was to capture the true colours of the species while providing the reader an informative visual of the anatomy and natural habitat of the Birdwing.
