CAi - stands for Conversive Ai - is a critical design project looking at the risks of IoT technologies as they grow into our lives. The brief required that I looked at IoT through the lens of ‘gastgerbeschaft’, the German term for good hosting. The outcome of this project was a short two minute film about life with CAi in the home. CAi was built upon a set of juxtaposing themes; cute vs malicious, inquisitive vs intrusive, intelligent vs awkward.
A 4 week project working with Mozilla researchers.
Following the conclusion of the project I continued to work and develop a more appropriate and further detailed aesthetic for CAi. This included embedding a Raspberry Pi within the newer model to add web connected functionality.
