I did this a few weeks back. The main purpose was to see how it felt to film with the Nokia Lumia 920 in a casual ‘normal’ manner. When I shoot with mobile phones we tend to do everything we can to integrate them into a pro workflow and that means we essentially nullify the convenience of it being a phone by making heavy rigs and using tripods, sliders and whatever other tools we have available. So for this, I decided to use just the phone, a timelapse app and a cheapo mini tripod. I filmed on the side while enjoying my trip with my wife and kids, I didn’t want it to turn into a production. I edited in a couple of hours on final cut x and bought a stock song from Vimeo music library.
