Scribing for One Door Mental Health Symposium 2019

Scribing for One Door Mental Health Symposium 2019
I had the pleasure of scribing at the One Door Mental Health Symposium 2019 in Sydney. It was a gathering of professionals and academics in the field, to share the latest in treatments and methods, as well as to present and hear first-hand stories of patients and carers. There was a palpable mood and appetite for change at a systemic level, and this comes out in various ways in the sketchnotes I did.

I did each talk on separate A0 300gsm boards, and pinned them up on the side wall throughout the day as a gallery for everyone to review and reflect on.
Jason Trethowan (CEO Headspace) and Dr Annemaree Bickerton (Senior Psychiatrist who has recently established the Caring with Families Program at The Hills Clinic)
Dr Justin Scanlan (Occupational Therapist, Course Director and Senior Lecturer, University of Sydney) and Judy Nicholas (Carer and Carer Advocate)
Prof Philip Mitchell (Head of the School of Psychiatry at UNSW) and Mitch Wallis (Founder of Heart on My Sleeve movement)
Dr Stephen King (Professor of Economics and former Dean at Monash University, and member of the National Competition Council) and Sarah Lambert (Director of Community Health and Regional Services, ACON)
Tony Stevenson (CEO Mental Illness Fellowship of Australia) and Tim Heffernan (Deputy Commissioner, Mental Health Commission of NSW)
