VW has been hard at work developing a new generation of electric cars that it plans to release in 2020. Calling its upcoming line of electric cars the “ID” models, Volkswagen has indicated that some of its electric vehicles will be priced at or under $30,000, which is comparable to the price of a well-equipped VW Golf Diesel.
The Volkswagen Group, VW’s parent company, has indicated plans for aggressive expansion of its offerings in the electric car market over the next decade. Estimating that it will release 70 different models of battery-powered vehicles, the VW Group named the Audi E-Tron and Porsche Taycan as a few of the higher-end models it is developing.
