Evolution of the Flying Lemur
Super Sculpey Clay maquette

Maquette was created with armature wire and aluminium foil as the base for the sculpture. Sculpey clay was applied over the wire and aluminium base. Detail was then added using various clay tools to create fur details in some portions of the maquette.

Sculpture is composed of steel wire with varying thicknesses composed into the image of a young woman with wind blown hair.

These three studies were used to explore the original design of the paper maquette with its natural curves which remind me of worn down sandstone canyons and other geologic features in the southwestern United States.


 
Abstract Sculpture
Sculpture Block

Sculpture was carved using foam Sculpture Block using rasps, Dremmel, and sand paper. 
Sea Otter
Recycled cardboard, brown paper, wire, and acrylic paint
Dimensions: Approx. 31" X 23" X 16 1/2"

Process involved building base, kelp, and sea otter out of cardboard and wire. Adhesives used in the construction of sculpture included hot glue and Modge Podge, and acrylic medium. Sculpture was finished with a light washing of acrylic paint.

Methods used included silicone molding of found and created objects into a unified piece. Sculpture was finished with a acrylic paint.
Pressed Flowers
Plaster of Paris and acrylic washes
Dimensions: 6" X 6"
2019
Created by using water based clay to press flowers into creating a negative by which to create plaster casting. It was finished with washes of acrylic paints.
Photographs demonstrating the process of creating oil based clay using bees wax, mineral oil, coconut oil, and agricultural lime.
Deconstruction
2019
Deconstructed rotating lamp composed of plastic and wire mounted on 20" X 30" foam board using glue and wire. This deconstruction was meant to demonstrate the how the parts are associated to one another; like an exploded diagram.
