Missing Worlds Media: Logo Designs

Missing Worlds Media is a Game Studio working on an MMO involving SuperHeroes, but they're very cognizant of the fact that they need (and want) to branch into a lot of different games and concepts.

They're core driving vision is to be the company that is "Finding worlds you didn't even know were missing.", these were some very quick concept designs I did for them.
The logo which was eventually chosen, was not, in my opinion - the one I'd have gone with as it doesn't scale particularly well for printed media.
A request from one of the Sr. Execs on the project was to do something with a telescope theme. The problem with using an 'object' with a logo is that people tend to identify more with the object - than the name.  For this reason I'm not a big fan of using an object as a logo.

We tried several variations, telescopes, observatories... and the group thought on it, just didn't pan out.
Another request was to play with the idea of 'missing worlds'  -- and an image link was presented to a comic book illustration of multiple earths.

Where I kind of liked the idea - and as a visual it's great - the problem with it is that to pull it off and give it justice really requires a lot of small objects and the design can get cluttered quickly.
To help 'collect' the objects mentally one trick was to literally encircle the entire design.  It helps but not nearly enough.
I really liked this design for several reasons.  It was simple.  It didn't rely on the text - and it was easily identifiable as it's own brand concept image.

But the text was too light ... sooo....  We inverted it a bit.
If the choice had been up to me - this is my prefered image.  With or without the text to me it worked.

It was, however, an early rejection by the PTB as 'it didn't have enough text'.  Go figure.
This was my second choice - and the group involved loved it too.  They loved it so much - they wanted it for use on one of their projects.

The skyline behind the text is actually several real and fantasy locations - from Stonehenge to the Castle in Germany that's the inspiration for Disneyland, Mosques in Turkey, New York, San Francisco, Seattle... and the mythical Titan City/Phoenix City.
Part of 'selling' any concept is showing how it's going to look in several concept states - - mockups.  Here's a couple video mockups.
An early concept....
