Concept
The visual identity for the Star Trail is centred around a detail from Holbein's The Ambassadors (1533). The detail features a part of a celestial globe with its golden marking and deep blue background. This is a part of the painting that is rarely perceived that closely, a surprising entry point to the National Gallery's Collection. It also give context to the star trail with its golden star marking and intriguing sky map.
