◉ Swivelization ◉ Fiddle-Factor ◉ I designed this with several goals in mind. Not only did I want it to function as an economically viable scent bottle and stand, but I also wanted it to be playful in a ’tactile’ and dynamic sense. As soon as I’d completed the 3D CAD models, I made 3D printed models of the components to test the ‘real world’ effectiveness. The bottle had to have a good ‘hand hold’, and the parts combined to be a satisfying ‘desk toy’. The spherical body of the bottle fits perfectly into the hemispherical ’socket’ in the base/stand, and allows for much freedom of movement. At the end of the day, I wanted the aesthetics to be quite ‘quirky’ also; so the transparent bottles are very much secondary to the coloured opaque versions. Happy with the outcome of the real world models, I produced the digital visuals and animations that you see here.
