Group Project: Alyssa Holcomb, Tessa Cotton, Dominic Kim

Looking at past trends with kitchen design, the layout and place of the kitchen has made a transition from a private space dedicated to cooking and preparation, to then open to the living spaces for entertaining. For the kitchen of the future, we imagined what space would next be opened to the kitchen. For the growing trend of indoor/outdoor living, our designed blurred the line between an indoor/outdoor kitchen. Connectivity between the indoor and outdoor spaces encouraged residents and guest to get outside and enjoy the outdoors. Simplistic materials such as wood, stone, glass, and concrete along with the use of natural light, help the user to connect to nature, and feel inspired to live more sustainable. The residents can open both glass sliding doors on either end of the space to open the space entirely to the outside patio.
