Following the notion of mankind's utopian migration to the deep sea depths, this feminine diffusion line is designed to reflect the movement and liquidity of the underwater world. In the design process, I have explored sensory and optical intrigue by focussing on the amphibious, ethereal and fragile qualities of the subterranean environment - toying with the notion of intangibility and desire. Fabrics, embellishment and styling all emulate surface texture, form, luminescence and varying levels of colour saturation. The concept of "inner-wear-as-outerwear" is intrisic to the theme as is multi-purpose function.
...This is a project that I have thoroughly enjoyed - endless ideas. Additional inspiration for beadwork, surface texture and colour has come from macro photographers; Alexander Semenov, Richard Ling and J Rix. Trim inspiration has come from my recent trips to Brazil and to Interfiliere, Paris.

At this stage in the design process, I am also "dissecting"  mosaic patterns - spiral structures - graffiti - macro photography - Microscopic x-ray films of organisms.

In considering multi-purpose wear for this diffusion line, my designs are being inspired by swim and evening wear, in addition to 1950's/60's style. My design here, was inspired by the idea of a dinner date, followed by a late night dip in the ocean.

The above designs show my experimentation with overlapping placement prints (for high-tech stretch bases.) These swimwear pieces follow the concept of "inner-wear-as-outerwear". I would like to try the same idea with lingerie.

This swimwear falls under two collection themes;  Brasilia & 2000 Leagues Under the Sea. The above designs are inspired by modernist architecture, mosaic patterns and a utopian outlook. Again, this selection follows the concept of "inner-wear-as-outerwear".  I would love to see these designs paired with a futuristic "jogging suit", haute heels and a good afro.

Fabrication: the latest digital print techniques and smooth stretch, high-tech base fabrics.
