Project Kish- overcoming language barriers

Project Kish is an initiative that re-imagines how legal concepts can be better communicated to overcome literacy and language barriers among India's rural population. I helped them by creating a short illustrated information booklet to explain an insurance scheme called Daily Hospital Cash Benefit.
I was inspired by IKEA's manuals, which convey instructions without words.
In the images below, the illustrations on the left are my visual interpretations of the sample text provided on the right.
I used visual aids to represent numbers (e.g.: 5 fingers to represent "5", instead of numerals and an image of the sun to respresent "day").
