DESIGN BRIEF
The main objective of this project was to design a print based textile collection for a client, according to brief given by him/her. The project started with theme selection and then forecast study. Various forecasts by different agencies like WGSN, Promostyl, etc were looked into for a particular season. The forecast brief, fabrics, colours, prints were understood and a story was picked. The understanding of the forecast study was done an own interpretation was made which led to picking up visuals, keywords and colours to help design concepts. Once the concepts were finalised, minor surfaces were made keeping in mind the final concepts. Colour and concept options were made to give different options to the client. All of them were set in a seamless repeat and the printed on the fabric.

CLIENT BRIEF
Room: Living room
Elements: Lamp, wall piece, wind chime
Textiles: Sofa cover, poufs, cushions, curtains, rugs, throws, blinds
Details: Modern look with abstract designs.
Spacious with beautiful elements and nice feel to it.
My interpretation: The client wants mix of both modern and abstract forms. Use both of bright and subtle colours in such a way that its compliments each other. The elements should look beautiful and give happy feeling to the client.

Concepts developed are based on this idea of using pix-elated version of the kaleidoscopic view, instead of using traditional floral view. The client brief mentions the use of abstract form as well.

Explorations
I made my own kaleidoscope and put beads in it and started my design process. Then I clicked photographs of the pattern developed in it.
Few motifs are extracted from the explorations and concepts are developed accordingly. Both with white and dark backgrounds.
Later, motifs are extracted from these explorations and sequences are used on a fabric to develop these motifs.
