Performing skin

These diagrams visualise a week of performance workshops during the final stages of the first semester in the MDes Interior Design course at the Glasgow School of Art. I chose to analyse the sound oscillation patterns that emerged through the actions within the specified space. The performance was based around the retainment of memory within a structure. Cling film is a material that is easily marked and damaged, therefore it was utilised to retain the memory of the people that it comes into contact with. Various materials were utilised to showcase the unique nature of each individual. The methodical wrapping of the cling film created layers of unique memories, as well as forming a new skin with them. Similar to what happens with abandoned buildings, the new skin is later discarded and forgotten.
