Description

The Love Mail Lamp is a little bedside lamp that allows you to communicate abstractly with friends and loved ones remotely.

By pressing the lamp, we can send a message to the other lamp through vibration and light intensity. Light press (low brightness) for waking up and sleeping mode,  medium press (medium brightness) and harder press (max brightness).

You can also send a heartbeat by pressing and holding.
Interface and Interaction Modality

The LoveMail lamp is a physical artifact. This little mushroom shaped lamp, allows friends and loved ones to stay connected even if they live far from each other. The idea is to play with light intensity to send a message to the other person. For instance, you can send a heartbeat to the other person to let them know you are thinking of them by pressing and holding the lamp.
When the other person touches the lamp, they will be able to see the recorded message.
User Experience

The user can interact with the lamp by touching it. Pressing the lamp softly will activate the waking up mode (low brightness). There are 3 different light intensities - low, medium and max brightness - which can be used to communicate different messages and mood states. The idea is to be able to communicate at a distance by just using touch, light, and vibration.
By touching and holding the lamp for a few seconds, the user can send a message to the other lamp. The user gets the feedback that the message was sent by a short vibration.
When the second user touches the lamp, they will get the recorded message.
