Paradise Papers - BBC video explainers

The Paradise Papers leak was covered at the BBC by a tight-knit group of journalists and designers from Visual Journalism working alongside the lead affairs programme Panorama.
I was lucky to be part of this design team in charge of producing a suite of animations, graphics and branding explaining the stories to a wide audience.

My work focused mainly on the animated explainers (design and animation) that were showcased cross-platform - TV, web and social media - and appeared across BBC News Channel, BBC World News, BBC1 Bulletins, and BBC News website. The main challenge working on this explainers was that they were constantly reviewed and updated as investigations developed to ensure they reflected the latests facts.
The explainers were reversioned in 25 languages.

This is just a short reel with the 4 explainers I was in charge of: “Hide your cash”(a short guide to understand how offshore investments work), “Queen’s private estate invested offshore”, “How Lewis Hamilton got a £3.3m vat refund” and “Apple secret bolthole revealed”.
The following explainers are the ones I designed and animated based on the scripts and research my colleagues provided. There were 2 other explainers animated by other great designers about 'Who really controls Everton FC?' and 'Prince Charles' secret offshore investment'.
