When i see something that i like, i have to jump into it in the second i see it!

Billie Eilish - "burry a friend" is one on those things! Around 40-50 Hours of work, where all of my attention, focus and heart was stolen by this idea for over a week! I still can't believe i managed to finish it! I'm SO SO HAPPY! I wasn't sleeping much, in my veins is still only coffee and i see BILLIE EVERYWHERE.

Tons of 2D FX, smooth animation and something that i believe will impact my way of thinking about that type of videos :)

Intro of the song with just animated hand drawn typography

Fairly easy Chorus. Mostly moving typography with a little animation of earrings and arms while switching screens

1st Verse contains tons of liquid special effects. It's the most ambitious part of the animation. Everything is done frame by frame here excluding hands in the last scene

Refrain Includes tons of technical things. Mix of heavy frame by frame animation with some builds of character with hands. Most visual part of the animation i guess.

2nd Verse! The longest part of the song with tons of text. In order to manage the amount of lyrics in reasonable time i tried to put as much text in each shot to save time. I had to find a balance between the quality of the other parts of the video and i believe i achieved that. Tons of lyrics, but still super smooth with details that catches eyes such as legs or rotating coin of objects treated as text.

Bridge was the last part to animate. I wanted to keep that long shot that was in the original video from the very beginning. The only thing that was unclear was the character and how to animate it in this scene. Initially i wanted to do it frame by frame but 600+ frames long shot would be overkill! So i managed to add some curve deformers and in reasonable time balancing between time and quality i managed to finish this very long one-shot.

Tiny additional features that appeared in the 2nd Refrain was just a nice touch.

More impact to this very visual part of the animation.

Overall i did this just for fun, no one paid me to spend entire week doing that. My ambitions for this video was to have 1k views on Youtube and now its OVER ONE MILLION! I achieved my biggest fear one more time by just finishing something that have significant length with significant amount of work and time i had to spend on it. 

Every single artist know that pain and know how important is that one thing - PATIENCE. 

I prove myself for the next time i can do it and i had so much fun during that process.
