Gamma Iota Sigma Focuses on Diversity and Inclusion

Prior to starting his career in the insurance industry, Scott G. Sink attended the University of Georgia where he was the 1984 Risk Management and Insurance Outstanding Student of the Year, and a member of Gamma Iota Sigma.

An international business fraternity, Gamma Iota Sigma serves students of risk management, insurance, and actuarial science. The fraternity, which was founded in in 1965, currently maintains 83 North American chapters that include 5,000 students and over 25,000 alumni. 

Members of Gamma Iota Sigma benefit from an increase in both moral and academic achievements. Moreover, they have access to scholarship and alumni opportunities, in addition to special programs like the GammaSAID initiative.

GammaSAID, or Solutions for Authenticity, Inclusion, and Diversity, is a student-led group that helps shape the diversity discussion as it pertains to the insurance industry. With the help of alumni advisors, students work to understand the challenges related to diversity in the insurance, and help develop solutions to these challenges The group’s work culminates each year at the Annual International Conference, where members present their work at a leadership symposium.
