This was my second piece of pointillism, about a year ago. Although both rendered in pointillism, about a week apart, this piece looks very different to the deer head because I was still wrestling internally with finding my style.

 

It was a very valuable exercise in many ways, as I have always found the idea of landscape drawing very intimidating I thought that the only way to tackle my fear was to hit it head on. Three days later this is what was produced.

 

Inspiration for this image is taken from a 3D render of a fictional mountain range on Macguild.org

 

Sadly this piece didn't survive my house move either, and I only have this photograph.
