Exhibition Design

Inspired by the 2018 and Future Trends, this project explores a future Dystopia with Artificial Intelligence and Empathy deficit at its core.

The Nation uses technology as a tool of manipulation. In 2040 people wear constantly and voluntarily their "Hyper Gogglus" and addicted to technology they alienate.

Stimulus, is a Museum Concept placed in this Dystopia. It is a space that will be able to change and take different forms according to peoples' needs.

"OFFLINE IS THE NEW LUXURY"
In 2040, the Nation uses technology to keep citizens “in their place”.
People lose their empathy and alienate from each other, but the Nation reassures its dominance.
Stimulus preserves the Treasures of Humanity; communication, creativity, emotion

Activist Museum: “Stimulus” is inspired by the culture of Collectives + Squatting.
GOAL OF STIMULUS
inspire action in their visitors to make social change; to become active+engaged and to be involved in democracy.

Stimulus Concept Space changes according to visitors’ needs. There is a spatial grid that allows to the exhibition unit to move.
Stimulus was inspired by; Disobedient Objects exhibition - V&A Museum, Choosing to Participate project - Facing History in Ourselves, An Incomplete History of Protest exhibition - Whitney museum, Activist New York exhibition - Museum of the City of New York.

This concept is inspired by the past, but also by trends and behaviors we can see in the world today.

Exploring dystopic scenarios makes us question the present and  identify actions that would be beneficial in a variety of circumstances.

The choices that we make shape the future.

This project was created in December 2018, for the Historical Perspectives and Theory of Sara DeAngelis, in the Master’s Program of Exhibition and Experience Design, Fashion Institute Technology, NY.
