Overview

This project is a redesign of an existing mobile app that helps electronic music lovers to find and attend venues around the world. After identifying some problems with the app's user experience and interface design, a complete makeover, aiming to improve the product, was proposed. Although based on a real-life assignment, this is a personal project with no commercial intent.

Challenge
The app’s user experience was frustrating (e.g. the home screen was cluttered and difficult to navigate) and its visual design was bland and unexciting. With a target audience of young Millenials, the app needed to provide a smooth user experience and be visually strong in order to retain its users and stand out among the competition.

Process & Outcome

I've done many iterations and worked on continually tweaking and refining the app's user experience in order to make it more streamlined, clear and seamless. At the same time, I've created a mood board that set the visual tone of the app by gathering inspiration from the colours and ambience of electronic music clubs.

The app's new visual design feels nocturnal and contemporary, drawing inspiration from the atmosphere of urban nightclubs (hence the subtle textured/noisy screen backgrounds) and the modern, minimalist visual universe of the electronic music scene.
