Passion Project: Soccer Cleats
Introduction
For this final project of the year I decided to make a soccer cleat concept. I did this because of my love for soccer, I've been playing my whole life and it has slowly become apart of me. Along with playing I also watch professional soccer at home all the time because my whole family are fans as well. So as it has become such a big part of my life I chose to use everything I learned in my graphic design class to create something that I am truly passionate about.
Inspiration
For my inspiration for this project, I began to look at cleats that I have personally wore throughout my soccer career. I then ended up taking the aspects that I liked and disliked about them and came up with a couple of sketches that included these features. Then I started to look at other cleats, some that I've always wanted to have or just to try out. I then tried to add the attractive pieces of those onto my existing sketches. I also took a look at some other people bechance posts to see how they came up with their concepts for shoes.
Sketches
Drafts and Art-board
For my final design I ended up going with a classic black cleat with gold accents. I added a sock design around the collar for better ankle support and an overall more natural "fit." I tried to compliment the main walls of the shoes by making the laces black. The sole of the shoe is gold with a total of 13 rubber spikes to really grip the ground when wearing them. As for the main walls of the shoe, I decided to make it black with no design. The only design would be the pattern of the material chosen for the cleat. I did this because I not want to make a cleat concept for specific brand, I just wanted to make a cleat which I thought would be best for fellow footballers.
