A lot of things came to my mind when I was doing the redesign of the card…
I could simply change the logo sizes and do some grid arrangement of the layout but still it wasn't enough for me. So I started to work on the logos. We have the common element in both logos called "5 Quinas" where we can find it in Portugal's flag.
While I was trying to figuring out the meaning of using this composed escutcheons I realised something wrong with the AT's logo. The iconic armillary sphere orientation has been reflected on its horizontal axis! That kind hurt my eyes!
I was trying to design the logos as simple as possible to make it easy to understand when giving the card to the person that would be writing or scanning my VAT number on receipts. So I came up with this two logos:
I wanted to make them objective and text clear. I decided to keep the main elements due to the redesign process rather to completely discard them from the previous logos. I'm still trying to improve this idea and concept for the card. Meanwhile I'm already using and testing this model in real life with success.
