Limited Edition SLX Steel

In honour of the 2018 Eroica South Africa event, MWL created two Limited Edition vintage steel frames by slamming African design and Italian craftsmanship together. This is what happens when you mix chrome and pop-modern African graphics together.

The design of this frame is heavily influenced by the vibrant and explosive shapes and colours of African art. As with all MWL frames, this one was prepared and sprayed by hand in Italy. In this painstakingly slow process, a lot of planning went into the mask layering before any paint even left the nozzle.

Only two of these were made - one for each hemisphere - but what makes these frames special is not that they were difficult to refurbish or took a long time to paint - it's their imperfections. Yes, those odd blemishes and oversprays that occur, prove they weren't made in a factory. It's great knowing that no two are the same.

This time around we went a bit further and collaborated with AssSavers from Sweden, Hifi Wheels from Portland and Enjoy Cycle Clothing in South Africa to apply the design across other materials and products. Seen above is the final mind-blowing build by Johan Flink.
